Oranjebitter

Just bought a bottle of Oranjebitter for Monday. This liquor has a typical taste. Many people wouldn't drink it unless it's Queensday (Koninginnedag). Every time I drink it, I always wonder why it has such a bad reputation.

Coming up ... Queensday

Less the a week from now and we'll celebrate Queensdag in Amsterdam. It seems that the weather will be fine. At least it wont rain I've heard. This year it's on a Monday, which gives us the chance to celebrate a whole weekend and an extra day. So the conditions are ideal.

Pino is coming over from Berlin, to celebrate his first Queensday in Amsterdam. I'm curious how he will like it. I really look forward to next weekend....

Pain in my back

For those of you who have been disappointed, that there was not so much news on my blog, I have an explanation today for my laziness: Since a few weeks now I suffer from back pain. It seems that I have some sort of spinal disc herniation. In the beginning I had so much pain in my right leg, my bottom and the lower part of my back, that I couldn't live without a pain killer. Sitting at the computer was nearly impossible. So I did it mainly at work.

Fortunately my doctor send me to a very good manual therapist. He taught me some exercises in the beginning that were very helpful. After only four sessions of manual therapy I'm nearly pain free now. That means that I am in a new phase now: I have to do attend a gym for some light fitness to start with. I'm not very keen on that part, but after all the pain I had, I think it's always better to go to a gym, then back to pain.
